Why do conservatives like the Civil War so much?
I could be wrong, but it seems that conservatives appreciate the U.S. Civil War more than any other U.S. war. Is this true? If so, what makes the Civil War so fascinating for conservatives? It seems to me that most people who are interested in the Civil War have almost no interest in the Revolutionary War, WWI ("The Great War"), WWII ("The Good War"), Vietnam, Korea, Iraq, Afghanistan, etc. On the other hand, I've met a number of historians and history buffs that are not interested in the Civil War, but are very interested in all the others. Please help me to understand this. Thanks!
