Shock oil ok for my gas airsoft gun?

after some research i have read that shock oil for rc cars is ok to use as lubricant for my airsoft gun and i have also found some saying differently. i bought one bottle of 10w and one that 20w i just wanna make sure its fine to use on my gun.
